Amanda Jenn- Intern Counsellor

Welcome! My name is Amanda, and I am a graduate student currently completing a
masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in Vancouver. I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience and a graduate certificate in Clinical Addictions Studies from the University of Lethbridge. I have a personal interest in Narrative, Solution-Focused, and Existential therapy modalities.

I have been working in the mental health field for about a decade, and I have experience facilitating recovery groups, doing advocacy work focused on increasing accessibility of therapy services, and providing crisis support for those at their most distressed. I have a passion for working with folks to navigate the isolating and complex corners of life together, such as grief/loss, traumas, relationship stress, anxiety/depression, eating disorders, and ADHD.

As an Intern Counsellor, I provide services for adults age 18+ and I believe in
tailoring therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs. I offer a safe space that's open and inclusive for all persons. My counselling approach is with a trauma-informed and a humanistic lens: you are the expert of your experiences, but you are also not alone. I help clients by encouraging their autonomy and building resilience to reach their goals in healing and emotional wellness.

While at Mt Pleasant Counselling, I am available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in-person and online. My practice will be directly supervised by Heather Scott, RCC. I provide a free initial consultation prior to booking our first session - reach out and let’s see if we’re a fit.

$60 for a 50 minute session.  Sliding scale options available.
